    About the Position: This position is under the supervision of the US Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command Safety Office.


    The NH-04 broad band level includes the General Schedule grades GS-14 to GS-15.

    Responsibilities

    • Radiation Safety Program Manager, TACOM Radiation Safety Office, and Laser Safety Officer.
    • Provide direction and policy guidance for the TACOM program for licensing and control of ionizing radiation sources and materials used in weapon systems, commodities, research, development, and test and evaluation applications.
    • TACOM point of contact to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on licensing and regulatory matters.
    • Responsible for worldwide licensing of depleted uranium armor and other TACOM radioactive commodities in the DoD Supply System.
    • Prepare technical applications, environment assessments, and controls for shipments, receipt, inventory, possession, use, handling, maintenance, storage, and disposal.
    • Prescribes TACOM policy for development of new health physics techniques and procedures, radiation safety training programs, and radiation safety requirements.
