    This position is located in the National Weather Service (NWS), Office of Observations (OBS), Radar Operations Center (ROC), Engineering Branch, with one vacancy in Norman, OK.

    Responsibilities

    As an Electronics Engineer, you will perform the following duties:

    • Represent the Office of Observations (OBS) Radar Operations Center, Engineering Branch in reaching engineering compromises and agreements with engineers of other organizations and contractors.
    • Plan engineering modifications to subsystems or major categories of equipment to include preparing cost estimates, procedures, criteria, or specifications for systems modification.
    • Perform engineering design, analysis, testing, and specification necessary to correct problems or provide enhancements to the electronic subsystems and electrical distribution systems of an advanced Doppler weather radar system.
    • Develop system modifications to ensure there is no impact on performance, reliability, and maintainability while ensuring the resultant modification meets established requirements.
    • Create or update technical documentation and drawings to ensure technical accuracy, conformance, and maintainability of deployed systems.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - Up to 15% of domestic travel may be required.
