    About the Position: About the Position: This position is located in Programs and Project Management Division HS/Environmental Programs Branch. IIS/Environmental Programs Branch, duty station for this position is Philadelphia, PA.

    This is an Interdisciplinary position which may be filled under any of the following titles and occupational series:

    Civil Engineer, 0810;
    Environmental Engineer, 819;
    Electrical Engineer, 850;
    Mechanical Engineer, 830
    Physical Scientist, 1301; or
    Chemist, 1320

    • As project manager, responsible for the management of hazardous/toxic waste (HTW) clean-up/restoration projects
    • An example of these clean-up/restoration projects involve Brownfield sites contaminated with hazardous wastes, petroleum or other pollutants under the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation Liability Act (CERCLA).
    • You will have responsibility for design review through final inspection of assigned projects.
    • You will conduct progress evaluations and regulatory compliance checks and perform required coordination with EPA, customer, contractor, A-E, District, or support personnel.
    • You will prepare solutions to technical problems encountered during remediation of a hazardous/toxic waste (HTW) site or coordinates the efforts of others in resolving the problems.
    • You will prepare or direct the surveillance of contractor operations to assure conformance with plans, specifications and regulations and evaluate changes necessitated by site conditions or design errors and omissions.
    • You will determine the suitability of the contractor's site specific Safety, Health, and Emergency Response Plan (SHERP).

    25% or less - This position requires upto 25% travel for business related reasons.
