    The mission of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) is to provide the fullest possible accounting for our missing personnel from our Nation's past conflicts to their families and our Nation. DPAA personnel research, investigate, recover and identify remains of Department of Defense (DoD) personnel unaccounted for from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, the Iraq conflicts and Persian Gulf War.

    Your typical work assignments may include the following:

    • Serves as a the Agency's Auditor with responsibility for performing audits in a wide variety of DP AA and OSD programs.
    • Examines policies, systems, procedures and records relating to operational, financial and program management activities, including mission activities of the Agency.
    • Provides reference services to the Agency and prepares summary audit reports, which present Agency-wide findings, causes and effects, and cites applicable regulations.
    • Establishes and maintains professional comprehensive knowledge of the principles, theories, techniques and practices of accounting, management and auditing to independently plan and conduct audit efforts in different locations and at different organizational management levels.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
