    This position is located with the Western Hemisphere Affairs, Executive Office, Training Division located at the Florida Regional Center, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  The incumbent assists in supporting the professional development needs of staff located at US Embassies in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs.

    • Develop and maintain training materials and curricula for multiple courses offered by the Florida Regional Center.
    • Develop course outlines, detailed lesson plans, and instructor's guides for course subjects.
    • Evaluate courses, review student course evaluations, conduct needs analyses, facilitate individual interviews and focus group discussions, and review existing course curricula.
    • Determines the most effective and efficient approach to meet bureau employees' training requirements, and provides guidance in developing individual development plans to assist employees in reaching short and long term career goals.
    • Conducts detailed planning to gather and interpret training and development related information and data to assess training requirements, complex problems, issues, and unusual circumstances.
    • Tracks and reports trends in the distribution of training effectiveness, and assesses costs and benefits.
    • Serves as instructor and facilitator in multiple related subject matter areas, including customer service, supervision, management, leadership, and contingency planning.
