    Summary

    The Supervisory Contract Specialist position is located in Washington Contracting Office. The incumbent will support the National Park Service's Harpers Ferry Center office by providing supervision and/or technical management, direction, and oversight to assigned team Contract Specialists, Purchasing Agents, and other contract support personnel. S/he will also provide acquisition and business advice to the assigned acquisition team members, customers, and leadership at Harpers Ferry Center.

    Responsibilities

    The major duties of the Supervisory Contract Specialist position include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • - Perform long-term pre-award and/or post-award functions using a wide range of highly complex contracting methods and types to procure multifaceted and/or nonstandard purchases in supplies, systems, services, equipment and/or construction
    • - Provide support to the Regional Chief as requested in support of the Region acquisition program
    • - Serve as an acquisition business advisor on contract matters
    • - Serve as the acquisition lead or contracting officer on major projects and management teams
    • - Provide advice, assistance and oversight regarding acquisition program duties and responsibilities to assigned acquisition specialists
    • - Serve in a supervisory role over a team of employees, which includes approving leave, evaluating performance, addressing informal grievances, and observing merit principles and equal opportunity rules and guidelines
