    You will serve as the Air-Breathing Engines Technical Expert in the Air Systems Group (ASG) of Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD).

    • You will evaluate program developments and provide overall technical direction, conduct technical reviews, assess soundness of technical objectives, define new technical needs, assess risks and provide risk management alternatives
    • You will direct new initiatives associated with current and next generation systems and subsystems, e.g. conventional, VSTOL, 5th gen, and variable cycle engine technologies; advanced control, power mgmt, prognostics and diagnostics capabilities.
    • You will display mastery of advanced propulsion engineering principles, practices, concepts and theories to support advanced design and development of all types of air-breathing engines.
    • You will provide extensive knowledge of related technical disciplines, including aerothermodynamics, materials engineering, stress analysis, structural integrity, and test and evaluation engineering.
    • You will exhibit ability to effectively apply advanced development and experimental concepts to solve complex design and development problems that have little or no precedent.
    • You will provide experience with the defense acquisition process and management techniques with ability to apply such knowledge to the planning, organizing, and management of engine programs.
    • You will be responsible for development and execution of research, development, test and evaluation (RDTE) and in-service engineering efforts for air-breathing engines across all Naval Aviation programs and platforms.
    • You will lead teams of scientists and engineers from the Navy, other U.S. military services, Allies, and industry to ensure adherence to robust design standards and practices and to solve complex engineering issues.
