As a Physical Scientist, you will perform the following duties:
- Plans and manages the organization’s diverse and heterogeneous environmental data. Manages environmental data systems and uses advanced applications to analyze environmental data. Validates appropriate and relevant data and identifies questionable or conflicting data. Works with higher-level staff to determine long-term improvements to collection and analysis efforts.
- Applies professional or scientific knowledge to the collection of data and the delivery of scientific products developed to communicate findings. Develops, produces, and delivers interpretive products. Participates in the analysis, interpretation, and communication of information. Identifies audience, methods of collection, and form of communication – works to continually improve established procedures making recommendations to higher-level staff as necessary representing the office’s interest.
- Maintains competency, proficiency, and certifications (as needed) with relevant operational tools and systems.
- Participates in programmatic efforts or assigned projects collecting data and performing assigned analysis. Facilitates the completion of assignments through technical authority, coordinating with team members, communicating with higher-level staff.
Occasional travel - Up to 10% domestic or foreign travel may be required for this position.
