About the Position: You will provide Range Operations Controller services in support of the U.S. Military Academy's (USMA) Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobility and Security Division at West Point, New York. The Directorate is responsible for the planning, coordinating and executing contingency plans in force protection, emergency operations & security; conducts range operations; supports tenants' training strategies; and integrates base operations ISO the USMA & West Point tenant activities.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) issuing range support supplies and equipment; 2) controlling training activities to include ground maneuver, airborne assault, air attack, firing of military small arms and indirect fire weapons, and/or combined arms exercised; 3) operating the radio-telephone systems within range control headquarters; and 4) utilizing proper radio procedures to establish and maintain contact with the units and ranges. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
