    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position, you will serve as a Risk Analyst and will lead, direct, and implement processes for threat detection and vulnerability analysis for FEMA's systems and major applications that support the financial operations and the mission of FEMA. Typical assignments include:

    • Developing reporting techniques for FEMA security information and event management data to better assess risk across all IT systems in support of real time threat detection by Incident Response Analysts.
    • Leading the development and implementation of policies and associated standards, procedures. And implementation guidance to meet the statutory and practical requirements associate with the use of IT solutions in a Federal environment.
    • Planning and developing security monitoring and reporting measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure; and oversees the use of intrusion detection systems to monitor for security relevant events.
    • Promoting awareness of security issues among all levels of personnel using IT to support FEMA assets; and prepares and presents security awareness materials in a variety of venues including formal briefings, training sessions, seminars and workshops.
