This position serves as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (CUSTSPT) at the United States Coast Guard Intelligence Information Systems Processing Center. The position provides technical support to customers who need assistance utilizing client-level hardware and software in accordance with established or approved organizational process components (i.e., Master Incident Management Plan, when applicable).
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
- Providing administration and troubleshooting of hardware, software.
- Analyzing incident data for emerging trends.
- Developing and delivering technical training to educate others or meet customer needs.
- Administering accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
- Monitoring and reporting client-level computer system performance.
- Manage assigned IT projects to completion.

To qualify at the GS- 12 level, applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience include:
- Implementing system enhancements and modifications for interfacing operational and asset maintenance information technology (IT) systems;
- Troubleshooting end user application problems;
- Conducting IT system studies (requirement analysis, feasibility studies, utilization studies, life cycle cost analysis);
- Providing telecommunication assistance, and ensuring system security policies are implemented in network and system designs.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement, you must also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
