    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    n this position, you will serve as Operations Research Analyst, performing complex analysis and provides expert advice and guidance on a broad range of matters designed to ensure the effective linkage of FEMA’s strategic planning initiatives, program operations, business practices, and fiscal resources within Office of Policy and Program Analysis (OPPA)OPPA.  Typical assignments include: 

    • Performing intensive developmental assignments in special mathematical and statistical studies to develop techniques in the conduct and evaluation of cost, economic, performance measurements, data analysis, and life cycle cost analysis studies, including predictive mathematical and statistical models for determining affordability, costs and benefits of different levels of program operations, and uses analysis to compile budgets for proposal.
    • Assisting in analysis to support continuous improvement of strategic management, integration, and accountability across activities related to emergency management, mitigation, and preparedness for disasters by performing resource allocation and programming aspects of Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE).
    • Working across disciplinary boundaries to develop and communicate multidisciplinary solutions to complex problems and their resource impact.
