    Summary

    This position is an Interdisciplinary position, and will be filled as either Supervisory Industrial Hygienist, Supervisory Physicist, or Supervisory General Engineer.

    This position is located in the Physical and Toxic Agents Division (PTAD) of the Pittsburgh Safety and Health Technology Center. PTAD is responsible for providing technical assistance to enforcement personnel and the mining industry.

    Responsibilities

    Serves as Chief of the Physical and Toxic Agents Division, directing the activities of a staff of 25 professional, technical and clerical employees.  Plans, organizes and directs through Branch Chiefs, major programs concerning environmental physical and toxic agents conditions that affect occupational health and safety in the mining and allied industries. Exercises responsibility for the financial management, staffing, space utilization and general operation of the Division.  Supervises and directs activities concerned with the administrative management functions of the Division. 

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - 3% Travel for inspection, outreach and other enforcement related activities.
