    Responsibilities

    Joining the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) means being part of the team focused on securing the Nation's physical and cyber infrastructure against threats to public health and safety, economy, and national security. Within CISA, the National Risk Management Center (NRMC) is a risk-driven analysis and planning center focused on addressing significant risks to our national critical functions. NRMC works with partners to generate solutions to the most complex, strategic risks to infrastructure. To accomplish this mission, NRMC operates using a collaborative model that relies on close integration with Federal, SLTT, and private sector critical infrastructure partners across sectors.

    In this position, you will serve as a consequence analyst, which requires the ability to work across disciplinary boundaries developing multidisciplinary solutions to complex problems relating to critical infrastructure. Typical work assignments include:

    • Performance of duties require a professional knowledge of mathematics, economics, or physical sciences.
    • Conducting complex analyses of cyber and physical infrastructure used to modify and improve homeland security programs.
    • Plans and develops research strategy on complex issues by identifying critical variables and factors.
    • Conducts literature searches; locates and summarizes recent open and government publications and determines what information is available and applicable to the problem at hand.
    • Establishes and monitors the scientific and developmental initiatives for projects.
    • Serves as a technical project manager and advises other analysts or scientists on techniques best suited for analyzing problems.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel 1-5 nights/month for this position.
