    Summary

    Responsible for high-level oversight and coordination of CDC's laboratory policies and operations, specifically those related to laboratory safety and quality at all CDC campuses. The OLSaf has responsibility for the implementation of laboratory safety management across the agency.

    Responsibilities

    As a Quality Assurance Specialist you will:

    • Review and evaluate a variety of technical documents related to compliance with International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001 standards for management and operations of the OLSaf quality program.
    • Maintain and manage a comprehensive set of ISO compliance documents for the OLSaf, including but not limited to plan, policies, procedures, guidance documents, and memos.
    • Draft, format, review, and clear new procedures, forms, job aids, and other documents as needed to support the work of the office.
    • Coordinate with CDC Records office to develop schedules when schedules are not available.
    • Assist the senior QA Specialist, Contracting Officer Representative (COR), and Technical Monitor in managing contracts related to work of the OLSaf.
    • Review reports of contractor performance and compile data to asses degree of compliance with contract requirements and to identify problem areas.
    • Perform trend analysis to determine contractor quality deficiencies and prescribes corrective actions.
    • Verify that corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
