    This position, located in the Massachusetts Veterans Epidemiology Research and Information Center (MAVERIC) at the VA New England Health Care System, Boston, MA. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Junior Statistician working on projects within MAVERIC by providing methodological and statistical expertise and data analysis.

    NOTE: This is a TERM appointment (not-to-exceed 2 years). Term appointments are non-status, nonpermanent appointments of limited duration (more than 1 year but not more than 4). Term employees are eligible to earn leave and generally have the same benefits as permanent employees including health and life insurance, within-grade increases and Federal Employees Retirement System and Thrift Savings Plan coverage. Term appointments may be extended without further competition (up to the 4-year maximum). The appointment to a Term position does not confer eligibility for promotion or reassignment to other positions or the ability to be non-competitively converted to permanent employment.

    • Works closely with principal proponent, Epidemiologist and Senior Statistician in protocol development;
    • Participates on activities related to initiation of a study, monitoring progress, coordination of meetings, presentations of results, etc.;
    • Provides pertinent reports, final data analysis, and data processing activities;
    • Utilizes knowledge of complex statistical analysis techniques (e.g. logistic regression, survival analysis, etc.);
    • Assists in administrative matters such as reviewing and evaluating budget requests;
    • Initiates and conducts statistical research activities under the direction of the Senior Statistician;
    • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
    Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
