    Summary

    You will serve as a HEALTH PHYSICIST in the Radiation Worker or Radiological Control Technician Branch, of the Radiological Support Division, Code 105.4, in the Radiological Control Office of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

    Responsibilities

    • You will serve as a Senior Health Physicist/Instructor in the Radiation Worker or Radiological Control Technician Training Branch.
    • You will conduct and evaluate radiation awareness training for non-rad workers in the shipyard, including visitors.
    • You will evaluate, modify and advise on the health physics aspects of equipment or procedures that involve exposure to ionizing radiation and if required conduct research and development of techniques for new radiological procedures.
    • You will provide knowledge expertise and advice on matters concerning health physics.
    • You will review graded written tests and practical tests administered by other shops/codes for accuracy in grading and adherence to existing policies and procedures.
    • You will conduct work site surveillance to monitor effectiveness of training.
