    Summary

    This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization (OEHRM), Office of the Deputy Secretary of VA (DEPSECVA), Communications Directorate. The incumbent serves as the Strategic Communications Specialist responsible for planning and developing a broad strategic communications program that furthers the program's vision, mission, and goals.

    Responsibilities

    This announcement is non-bargaining and may close early once an adequate pool of 50 eligible applicants is reached.


    Major Duties

    • Develops and implements plans, policies, and procedures established to meet the program's strategic communications program needs.
    • Writes and briefs strategic concepts, prepares reports and briefings on study results, and provides recommendations to senior executive leadership on best course of actions for resolution on issues and initiatives.
    • Designs, conducts, and evaluates innovative means to advertise and market products of the program's capabilites.
    • Receives congressional inquiries from the Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs (OCLA) and the Office of Management (OM).
    • Serves as the senior Public Affairs Specialist and may serve as full Deputy to the OEHRM Director of Communications with full authority and responsibilties.
