    This position is located in the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer (OCHCO), Workforce Support Programs Division (WSPD).

    Responsibilities

    The primary purpose of the position is to serve as the Safety and Occupational Health Manager for the Agency, with responsibility for managing, overseeing and evaluating the Safety and Occupational Health (S&OH) program execution. You will plan, develop, evaluate and manage a comprehensive safety and occupational health surveillance and enforcement program to determine compliance with proper standards and methods to improve the safety of personnel, working environment and the loss control of equipment and facilities.

    Typical work assignments include:

    • Managing safety or occupational health program elements; applying safety laws, regulations, principles, theories, practices and procedures to advise on or resolve technical matters dealing with safety requirements.
    • Developing and recommending safety and occupational health policy to higher levels of management.
    • Developing or implementing programs to reduce the frequency, severity, and cost of accidents and occupational illnesses.
    • Inspecting or surveying workplaces, identify potential new hazards; and advise on or resolve technical matters dealing with occupational safety and health requirements.
