    The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System performs a vital role in our Critical Care Units to support the mission of the Veterans Health Administration in providing quality care for our nations Veterans

    1. Provide respiratory care to patients in critical care as outlined in the Policy and Procedure Manual.
    2. Maintain credentials under the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
    3. Operate and Monitor medical equipment or instruments in connection with a variety of established treatment procedures.
    4. Exhibit caring and professional demeanor to staff, patients and their family members.
    5. Deliver mechanical ventilation, tracheal suctioning, miscellaneous emergency actions, obtain blood gas samples, document all assigned work performed.
    6. Disassemble, clean, sterilize, calibrate, test, and reassemble medical equipment

    Work Schedule: 7:00am-3:30pm First two weeks, rotating for 24/7 coverage including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations.
