    Summary

    This position is located in the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration’s Office of Audit. The purpose of this position is to serve as an Auditor in support of the assigned program area(s).

    Responsibilities

    The following are duties are equal to a GS-12, which is the full performance level of this position. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn how to perform these duties, and will receive training to help you grow within this position.

    • Conducts valid and reliable research when analyzing internal and external information to assess risk factors and identifies high-risk areas.
    • Identifies all elements of findings and provides appropriate recommendations in conducting audits.
    • Articulates audit outcomes for findings and recommendations that result in cost savings, program improvements, or revenue enhancement.
    • Evaluates complex systems, controls and information, and provides sufficient, competent and reliable evidence to support audit issues on integrity situations.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - 6 - 10 nights per month
