    This position is located in the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Facilities Division with one vacancy in Beltsville, Maryland.

    The incumbent is responsible for providing technical engineering policy, direction, and review for facilities design, construction, operations and management programs in support of the ARS mission area customers.

    • Reviews current and projected facility operations and investment needs and the status of ongoing Area Admin Office design and construction work activity in order to identify trends that would impact future facility modernization efforts.
    • Provides written and verbal advice to ARS program and AFM officials on facility and construction matters.
    • Participates in the formulation of contracting policy to include implementation and monitoring of policies/plans/procedures in the functional area of construction contracts, A-E contracts, construction management service, and facilities planning.
    • Provides conceptual development and budget formulation for congressionally appropriated (major projects) multi-million dollar research laboratory facilities.
    • Assists in setting priorities and allocating resources to accommodate planned and projected workloads and deadlines.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position. Less than 15%.
