- Coordinate National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) planning and analysis with specialists representing multiple natural resource disciplines.
- Provide authoritative expert advice and recommendations to higher organizational levels concerning sustainable management issues.

Basic Requirements for the 0101 Series:
Degree: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major field of study in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
Combination of education and experience -- that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
Basic Requirements for the 0401 Series:
Degree: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major field of study in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major field of study that included 24 semester hours in course work in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. Related course work generally refers to courses that may be accepted as part of the program major.
Combination of education and experience that included 24 semester hours in course work in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, AND experience sufficient to demonstrate that I possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform work in the occupation that is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field needed to perform the work of the occupation.
In addition to the requirements described above, the following additional education and/or experience is required:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level.Specialized experience is defined as experience
serving as a planner for environmental resources projects, such as construction, production, or reclamation activities, and ensuring compliance with environmental plans. Preparing environmental assessments and environmental impact statements that develop alternative land-use strategies and assisting senior leaders exchanging perspectives about land use and resource planning. Coordinating organization planning efforts with regional, state, city, county, or ad hoc citizen committees' land-use planning efforts and monitoring project reviews to evaluate compliance with policies, objectives, to assess resource planning implementation and accomplishments.

TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. The Enterprise Program was initiated in 1997 and was created to support increased productivity and effectiveness through implementing business practices within a Government structure. The Enterprise Program offers a new way of doing business. Enterprise Units are Forest Service resources that offer an internal choice for the accomplishment of the agency's work. These teams of dedicated Forest Service employees operate as independent, financially self-sustaining units funded by the clients/customers who benefit from the products and services they offer.
The primary responsibility of this position is performing work involving natural resources planning and environmental law compliance, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Forest Management Act (NFMA).
