    Positions are located in the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Division of Extramural Research and Training (DERT). One position is located in the Hazardous Substance and Research Branch (HSRB). The other position is located in the Exposure, Response and Technology Branch (ERTB).

    • Review data and progress reports, and implement corrective actions needed to achieve adequate research progress.
    • Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate programs and initiatives in the assigned specialty area of research.
    • Participate in the development of Program Announcements, Requests for Applications, and Requests for Proposals in areas of research.
    • Take administrative measures to achieve program goals through contacts with researchers and in administration of grant applications and ongoing projects, and communicate program goals in response to inquiries.
    • Monitor the status of project applications and awards from peer review through post-award administration and produces documents and responses to requests for information required.
    • Provide assistance to prospective grantees on various grant mechanisms and grant review processes.
    • Assist in drafting technical reports, analyzing data from the studies, and publication of research findings.
    • Conduct literature search on relevant scientific areas; drafts and circulates approval memos; track and incorporate suggested edits to initiatives.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
