- Design and administer the Fairbanks District Office records program and an extensive and complex system of records. Maintain a library of publications.
- Plan and develop goals, priorities, standards, and working guidelines for records. Furnish technical guidance and advice on resolving difficult records management problems.
- Receive FOIA requests and prepares response. Provide technical guidance and assistance for the protection of official records containing information subject to the Privacy Act.
- Interpret lands, recreation, and mineral records and verifies data for input into the Alaska Land Information System (ALIS).
- Review case files to verify the accuracy of historical actions and land description data in the ALIS. Evaluate case records for completeness and accuracy, correct file as needed.
Occasional travel - Some travel may be involved for training and coordination.

- Have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related, in natural resource management, social or biological sciences, or business administration; OR
- A combination of education and experience as listed above.
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of qualifying specialized experience may include: reviewing, analyzing, and processing Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act requests of simple nature including researching problem areas; researching and writing reports or other documents of related issues; inputting, updating, and retrieving, information in automated databases or electronic records; and following preliminary instructions in performing research on easily resolved legal questions with clearly applicable precedents; OR
- Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related in in natural resource management, social or biological sciences, or business administration; OR
