At minimum a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required.

Allowances, differentials, or incentives are as follows:
A. $1,000 recruitment incentive will be paid in one lump-sum payment when eligible Child and Youth Program Assistants CY-01 successfully complete all Entry level training requirements and has no pending disciplinary actions. The employee will then be reassigned from Entry Level-2 to Skill Level-3.
B. $1,000 incentive award will be paid after successful completion of the probationary period (or one year for Flexible status employees), with no pending disciplinary actions.
C. The maximum annual monetary recruitment incentive per selectee cannot exceed $2,000 for the first year.
