    This position is located in the Office of General Law and Ethics in the Legal Division of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). The incumbent provides confidential legal and policy advice primarily in the area of procurement law, and may also provide advice in government ethics and general law.

    As a Attorney-Advisor (General), you will:

    • Independently research and analyze relevant complex Federal and state laws, regulations, Executive Orders, OMB and other government-wide directives and memoranda. May lead teams in the research and analysis of relevant subject matter.
    • Counsel clients, including senior Bureau staff and occasionally executives, with respect to legal compliance, litigation risk, and other issues.
    • Plan, research, and analyze legal issues arising from policy options and CFPB procedures. Develop tactical and strategic plans for complex proposed actions and agency activity.
    • Draft for review proposed agency decisions and provide legal guidance and advice as a recognized expert in personnel matters and other given legal specialty areas.
