    As a Housekeeping Aid you will perform one or more combinations typical housekeeping tasks necessary to keep the medical center areas clean, sanitary, and attractive.

    As the Housekeeping Aid your duties will include but are not limited to: Scrubs, strips, apply floor finish and spray buffs floors using heavy industrial type powered scrubbers and buffers. Washes walls, vacuum cleans rugs using heavy industrial type vacuum cleaners. Moves heavy furniture, supplies, or equipment as necessary. Maintains equipment used. Performs a full range of housekeeping duties for an assigned area (administrative offices, medical center ward or treatment areas, etc.) following general instructions on work to be done. Uses a variety of cleaning and sanitizing solutions to clean and maintain various kinds of floors, wall, and ceiling; surfaces. Sweeps, vacuums, dusts, mops, scrubs, cleans and polishes. Removes trash, and handles medical and bio-hazardous waste. Arranges furniture. Washes windows. Cleans toilets, sinks, urinals, and other bathroom fixtures. Fills paper towels and toilet paper dispensers. Occasionally shelves clean linen. Removes soiled linen from assigned areas. Occasionally washes beds. Housekeeping Aid are also responsible for care, cleaning, storage, and safeguarding of equipment used. Reports needed repairs and safety hazards to supervisor on occasion, may guide incentive therapy patients in performing housekeeping tasks.

    Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

    Work Schedule: Various shifts available and include 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 12 midnight to 8:30 a.m. and can include weekends.
