    This position is located in the Branch of Aquatic Species and Habitat Conservation. The position coordinates national aquatic habitat conservation programs.

    Responsibilities

    --Identifies need for, develops and supports updates in national policy, procedures and funding priorities and needs for fish passage and aquatic habitat grant programs.
    --Reviews and interprets existing, new, and proposed regulations, legislation, statutes, and policies pertaining to fish passage, aquatic habitat conservation, and natural resources.
    --Collaborates with Fish and Wildlife Conservation offices to ensure consistent implementation of policies and guidelines and to identify and address emerging fisheries and aquatic conservation issues and opportunities.
    --Provides recommendations for cooperative and partnership efforts to develop management opportunities that enhance and protect fish and wildlife and their habitats.
    --Responds to requests for information from other Fish and Wildlife Service units, the Department of the Interior, Congress, states, other Federal agencies, fishery management councils, constituency groups, and the general public.
