The primary purpose of this position is to perform professional & scientific work assessing the hazards associated with flight testing guided missiles, ballistic missiles, and sounding rockets requiring the design, development, and adaptation of mathematical, statistical, and other scientific methods and techniques.
This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19.
- Safety Studies: Participates in flight plan approval studies and in other safety tasks and analyses.
- Operational Support: Plans and carries out approvals, technical assessments and data file preparations in support of launch operations.
- Attends meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to launch support planning, advanced technologies, and support system concepts.
- Accomplishes professional development and maintains technical proficiency through professional interaction with technical and professional societies, associations, academia, symposia, and research development organizations.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
