    This position is a Research Agronomist in the Agroecosystem Management Research Unit (AMRU), Plains Area, USDA-ARS, Lincoln, Nebraska.

    Incumbent's assignment involves basic and applied research on crop development, cropping sequence, nutrient and water management, tillage, residue management, and integrated crop-livestock systems. In team research, the incumbent provides expertise and leadership in GIS, remote sensing, and environmental informatics.

    • Facilitates and coordinates research among ARS LTAR (Long-term Agroecosystem Research)], University, and other scientists conducting cooperative research on cropping and integrated livestock systems.
    • Employs an array of field-based experiments, computer models, statistical procedures, and synthesis of published information within agronomic and environmental disciplines.
    • Prepare written work products based on research to be reviewed and/or published in professional articles, publications, and trade journals.
    • The incumbent employs, modifies, and develops methodologies to test new hypotheses, protocols, and strategies individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel to conferences and meetings.
