    Summary

    This position is located at the Sisseton Service Unit. The purpose of this position is to work alone or as a crew to perform the full range of custodial duties in assigned areas within the hospital or clinic, following general instructions on the work to be completed.

    This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19.

    Responsibilities

    • Scrubs, strips, wax and polish floors using heavy industrial type power scrubber and buffers. Washes walls by hand with use of powered wall washing machines.
    • Vacuum cleans rugs and carpets, using industrial type vacuum cleaners. Washes and replaces venetian blinds and washes ceiling fixtures and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds.
    • Moves heavy furniture, supplies and equipment. Adjusts, cleans and oils powered equipment; changes brushes, rollers and buffers, and other attachment on the Dowered equipment used.
    • Maintains a stock of cleaning materials and equipment to perform the janitorial work. Notifies supervisor when more material are needed or when equipment is in need of repair or replacement. Performs other duties as assigned.
