    The purpose of this position is to serve as the Travel Specialist in the Office of Financial Management, Customer Service Liaison.

    Responsibilities

    The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

    - Advise travelers on proper procedures for completing travel authorizations, travel vouchers for expense reimbursement and similar documents. Requires knowledge of Treasury and Federal travel regulations. Additionally, must have good written and verbal communication skills and will be called upon to explain and interpret policies and regulations.

    - Prepare permanent change of station orders (international), including shipment of household goods, personally owned vehicles, personal effects and baggage; arrange for storage; and obtain diplomatic passports, as well as visas when necessary. Maintain close liaison with State Department transportation section employees, obtaining shipping rates from them.

    - Maintain the travel automated system for employees, including providing users access to create or edit authorization documents or voucher documents, and updates user files to reflect user setup edits.
