    Responsibilities

    You will serve as the NEA's Director of the Office of Civil Rights/Equal Employment Opportunity Officer (OCR/EEO) and reports directly to the Chairman of the Agency. The primary focus of this position is in directing the agency's civil rights program. In this capacity, you will:

    -Serves as the Agency's Director of Civil Rights and its Equal Employment Opportunity Officer, and serves as the principal adviser to the Chairman with respect to these areas.
    -Oversee the processing of external civil rights complaints and negotiate voluntary resolutions, letters of findings, and recommendations for enforcement actions.
    -Direct the overall development of policies and standards to ensure compliance with external civil rights laws and regulations and EEO.
    -Direct the pre and post award compliance reviews of grant applicants and recipients to determine compliance with the nondiscrimination laws and regulations.
    -Supervise subordinate staff.
    -Conduct strategic planning, budget planning, contracting, and establishes practices and policies for the office.
    -Represent NEA in policy level discussions with the Office of Personnel Management, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Merit Systems Protection Board, the Department of Justice, federal interagency working groups, and at professional conferences and meetings.
