Qualifications: You Must Be Enrolled In An Educational Institution For All Grades At The Time Of Application Submission
GS-01: You must be enrolled in an educational institution.
GS-02: Experience: Three months of general experience for GS-0399-02 level positions. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
-OR- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
GS-03: Experiences: Six months of general experience for GS-0399-03 level positions. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
-OR- Education: Completion of 1 academic year of post-high school study.

GS-05: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-04) or equivalent. Specialized experience must have the skill of using word processing software to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print forms, memos, and letters; uses existing database or spreadsheet software to create, enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data for reports; and uses graphics software to provide graphs and charts for reports and presentations; preparing a wide variety of recurring correspondence, internal reports, and other documents from information obtained from the staff and files; and processing incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and directives .
-OR- Education: Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school study leading to a bachelor's degree or completion of 4 academic years of pre-professional study.

**YOU MAY BE REQUIRE TO TYPE 45 WORD PER MIN FOR OFFICE AUTOMATION POSITIONS**
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
2. Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports.
3. Knowledge of rules, procedures, or operations applied to clerical assignment to perform the routine, procedural work of the office, such as preparing and editing documents, maintaining files/records, making and preparing travel arrangements, screening telephone calls and visitors, processing mail, planning, organizing, and carrying out assignments and composing routine, nontechnical information for recurring reports and inquiries.
4. Knowledge of filing systems and procedures and the subject matter content of the materials being processed.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
