    You will serve as a Branch Chief for the International Commodity Procurement Division within the AMS Commodity Procurement Program. As a Supervisory Contract Specialist you must be an expert and authoritative source of information with the overall responsibility for developing, planning, directing, reviewing, managing, and controlling the organization's contracts.

    • The duties may include, but are not limited to:
    • Directs, coordinates, and maintains relations with potential contractors and trade groups for maintaining harmonious relationships with these groups on matters relating to commodity-related services.
    • Plans work within the team and is given discretion to organizing the wide range of tasks necessary to efficiently run the operations of the branch.
    • Develops performance standards for team employees and evaluates work performance.
    • Analyzes training needs of subordinates and ensures that appropriate formal and on-the-job training is received.
    • Ensures official guidelines are followed including the Federal Acquisition Regulation, AGAR, and other applicable Federal laws.
    • Performs supervisory, internal personnel administration, and management tasks.
    • Participates with the Division Director, and other USDA officials in the development of plans and policy matters.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
