    What General Information Do I Need To Know About This Position?

    Salary: $47,380 (Step 01) to $61,589 (Step 10); NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01. 

    There is three vacancies; however, this announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies if they become available.

    As a(n) POSITION TITLE within the NAME OF EMPLOYING OFFICE, some of your specific duties will include: 

    • Participates in planning, developing and executing field and laboratory research projects.
    • Samples fish and other organisms using various sampling equipment and techniques.
    • Utilize computer software knowledge to maintain, analyze or summarize scientific data.
    • Operate, maintain and download data from temperature dataloggers.
    • Organize and prepare equipment and supplies for field work.
    • Operate a government vehicle as an incidental driver. 

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    The work requires some physical exertion such as walking over wet, rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or other similar activities. The work requires moderate physical ability and average agility and dexterity.

    The work is performed in an office, laboratory, and/or in the field. Temperature and weather extremes may be encountered in the performance of outdoor work. Field and laboratory duties may require the use of special protective gear. Work in remote areas for extended periods, and dealing with the logistics necessary to support remote operations.

    Travel Required

    50% or less - Overnight travel of up to 10 nights per month may be required for this position.
