    Summary

    Per 5 CFR 335.103(c)(3)(v), this is a non-competitive reassignment opportunity open to those qualified who hold (or have held) a position equivalent to (or higher than) an ND-4 (GS-12 and GS-13 equivalency) on a permanent basis in the competitive service.

    You will serve as an Engineer or Scientist on the Systems Safety Product Team (Code 7011) of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport.

    Responsibilities

    • You will support the introduction of large scale systems that achieve an acceptable level of safety for hardware/software used in critical applications.
    • You will analyze integrated systems to ensure system safety guidelines are established.
    • You will provide advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, peers, and sponsors on specific technical aspects of systems safety.
    • You will develop analyses and presentations to the WSESRB, SSSTRP and other NOSSA boards of review on program status, hazards, milestones and other safety efforts in support of the program's milestone efforts.
    • You will participate in safety working group meetings, support Test and Analysis of complex systems, report hazard findings, and brief various technical Review Boards as necessary.
