    Joining the Customs and Border Protection, Planning, Analysis, and Requirements Evaluation Directorate will allow you to use your expertise in applying mathematical theories, techniques, and methods to quantify information.
    This position starts at a salary of $102,663.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $133,465.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $157,709 (GS-14 Step 10).

    Major Duties:
    The incumbent plans, develops, coordinates, and participates in agency research programs and projects. Performs scientific work that applies mathematical theories, techniques, and methods for gathering, studying, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting of statistical information.

    • Determines feasibility of agency data sources for analysis and recommends or determines appropriate study methods and procedures. Ensures the collection of statistical data and use of collection systems to satisfy immediate, mid-range, and long-term statistical data collection requirement.
    • Provides technical advice to agency management officials as they develop plans for agency programs, operations, objectives, policies, and procedures. Ensures mathematical procedures are applicable to established objectives. Designs and validates data to test hypotheses. Identifies methods and procedures to conduct immigration research studies, making adjustments in methods and procedures as appropriate for statistical validity. Evaluates and monitors execution of research projects to ensure that the implementation of the study will yield relevant and accurate results.
    • Performs work in direct support of enterprise analytics projects and serves as an expert for various CBP program offices. Liaisons directly with program offices for the purpose of assessing their knowledge/ decision making asset shortfalls.
