    Summary

    This position is located in Region 4 on the Regional Engineering Staff in Ogden, Utah.

    The incumbent serves as the principal design assistant to the Regional Facility Group Leader for Utah, Nevada, and parts of Idaho, Wyoming,
    and parts of California.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides guidance and technical support for the largest and most complex facility projects within the Region.
    • Provides architectural recommendations to senior management at the Regional and Forest level.
    • Provides expertise and recommendations to project managers on complex or unusual designs, issues and situations.
    • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert on various codes, such as the International Codes Series with State supplementals, NFPA, ABA, and State Energy Codes.
    • Prepare designs, specifications, and cost estimates.
    • Act as Lead Designer on projects, coordinating and managing other design professionals and design work.
    • Writes Statements of Work for Architectural-Engineering design contracts.
    • Conducts condition assessments on a wide range of facilities and develops reports detailing concerns and providing recommended solutions.
    • Works with external and internal customers to develop solutions for facilities problems.
    • Reviews designs, drawings and specifications for technical accuracy.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position for meetings, training, or site visits.
