The Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine Division at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Cincinnati, OH is recruiting a sleep medicine physician.

Education and length of practice will be considered through a formal pay-setting process in determining the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay).
The selectee will work in a 6 bed hospital-based sleep center which serve as the site of day and night diagnostic and therapeutic studies, maintenance of wakefulness testing, multiple sleep latency testing, and other sleep related studies. Home studies are performed for selected patients. The testing unit is equipped with new Philips-Respironics Alice 6 sleep workstations. The selected physician is expected participate in training internal medicine residents, pulmonary/critical care fellows and sleep fellows in addition to precepting medical student rotations in sleep medicine. A sleep fellowship program affiliated with Children's Hospital of Cincinnati has recently been approved with funding for a sleep fellow position.
Clinical duties will include interpreting various types of sleep studies and attending and precepting in all Sleep Clinics. The position includes participation as a faculty member in an ACGME-accredited sleep medicine fellowship under the auspices of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Administrative duties will include medical sub-specialty service responsibilities along with serving on Cincinnati VAMC and University affiliated committees and participating in other administrative activities as needed. A Tele-Sleep program with remote monitoring of therapeutic sleep equipment and tele-visits is under development in association with the national VA's SMAIC and REVAMP programs. There is close affiliation with the Otolaryngology division involving genioglossus stimulator and multilevel pharyngeal surgery treatment and research, Dentistry for oral appliances and maxillofacial surgery, Neurology for EEG interpretation assistance and RSBD evaluation, and with Mental Health Services for CBT-I, TBI, PTSD and other psychiatric services.
The Cincinnati VAMC is an active partner in the Center for Clinical and Translational Science and Training program with University of Cincinnati and Children's Hospital of Cincinnati https://cctst.uc.edu. Depending upon training and desire, the selectee may participate in other Pulmonary and Critical care rotations including the MICU, Tele-ICU, and pulmonary consult services. Applicants with training in clinical disciplines other than Pulmonology are also welcomed. Appointment to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center's Sleep Medicine Program faculty and site director position requires American Board of Medical Specialties certification in Sleep Medicine. Qualifications necessary to obtain an academic appointment at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine are required.
Work Schedule: Tour of Duty depending on the needs of the service/medical center. On-call responsibility nightly and weekends (unless coverage responsibilities are shared/traded with other sleep physicians); in-person only as required.
