    Summary

    1 East Rehab, located in Seattle, WA, within the Puget Sound VA Health Care System, is an acute rehabilitation care unit that specializes in the rehabilitation of patients with neurologic and muscular skeletal disorders resulting in functional deficits. Patient populations include cerebral vascular accidents, cardio-pulmonary conditions, amputations, multiple sclerosis, brain injuries, cancer and patients with conditions that affect their ability to do self-care.

    Responsibilities

    • The registered nurse provides care and counseling to patients and families, and responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing direct patient care.
    • Perform comprehensive physical, psychological and social assessments; detect early clinical changes in patient's condition; prioritize actual and potential problems and needs
    • Develop realistic and measurable outcomes for identified patient needs and evaluate patient's progress toward outcome; revise plan of care when appropriate
    • Provide and manage safe, therapeutic care for groups of patients
    • Document and report patient care
    • Supervise and guide all levels of nursing and ancillary staff assigned to do work on the unit
    Work Schedule: 0730-1600 with rotations to 1530-2400 as needed
