    The incumbent, under supervision of the Section Chief, Medical Director, and Supervisor(s) of Pulmonary and Critical Care and Respiratory Care Services, performs at a level of excellence in Pulmonary Function Service and in advanced bronchoscopy assisting. The services performed are IAW guidelines established by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC), and the policies and procedures of VA Puget Sound Health Care System

    Under the direction of a provider, the incumbent performs the following duties:

    - Spirometry with Pre and Post Bronchodilator
    - Plethysmography
    - Diffusion Capacity (DLCO)
    - Arterial Blood Gas (ABG)
    - Bronchial Provocation Testing
    - Bronchoscopy
    - Six Minute Walk Testing
    - Standard Respiratory Therapy treatments and diagnostic procedures using medical gases.
    - Cardiopulmonary Exercise Physiologic Testing utilizing EKG, BP, Oximeter, and Metabolic/Physiologic cart.

    The incumbent is expected to perform higher-level duties consisting of significant scope and complexity. Oversees all Spirometry, Bronchoscopy, Pulmonary Function, and Exercise Testing. Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with patients and employees at varying grade levels. Participates in constructive information exchange and assists in departmental development and renewal of policies and procedures and competency assessments.

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
