    The Secretary(OA) is assigned to the Office of Chief of Staff, Administrative officer to the COS, the service line and services reporting to the COS, Fargo VA Health Care system, VA Midwest Health Care Network, Fargo, ND. The major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Office Management:
    Provides executive level oversight and coordination for the subordinate offices with the goal of ensuring the COS office operates in a seamless and coordinated fashion.
    Provides technical advice on preparation of correspondence, including congressional correspondence to secretaries, clerks, and administrative staff, throughout the organization.
    Receives, schedules, refers, and contacts members ofthe staff, agency; and persons outside the agency ranging from other government agencies to the general public.
    Orders and maintains forms and office supplies used within the administrative offices.
    Creates and maintains membership for mail distribution groups in Outlook directories, global and local.

    Mail, Correspondence, and Reports:
    Processes incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports,
    memoranda, and other forms of written communication. Performs the following types of
    duties:composes and edits letters and reports, reviews correspondence for accuracy
    and completeness, prepares public presentation outlines, and replies to inquiries.
    Coordinates the Resource Board meetings.

    Maintaining Appointments. Calendars, and Schedules:
    Schedules appointments, coordinates meetings, and/or schedules conferences for the
    COS as well as other members of leadership. Controls the COS and AO appointments
    and time commitments, recording appointments, arranging for meeting and conference
    administrative details or following up on action items with appropriate staff members.
    Attends meetings, notes commitments made, informs staff of commitments, and arranges for staff to implement commitments during the meetings.
    Arranges for meeting space, speaker, and support arrangements for conferences.
    Ensures scheduling of the meeting at all affected sites, as well as the Fargo site, ensuring equipment and rooms are available.
    Performs troubleshooting when connectivity is not secured.

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00AM-4:30PM
