    As a Correspondence Specialist, you will:

    -Manage, review and edit responses consistent with HUD’s style guide and other Departmental standards for correspondence and FOIA for the Office of Housing; and/ or act as a liaison or handle the communication with persons and/or groups within and outside of the organization.

    -Reporting, Trend Analysis, Root-Cause Analysis, and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI): Incumbent performs review and analysis of their assigned portfolio at least once a week. This review and analysis ensures data integrity and facilitates the incumbent’s identification of issue concentrations by program or sub-program, geographic location, or other parameter. 

    -Research, draft, and/or edit general responses for overdue correspondence within the Office of Housing. Analyze incoming letters to determine the nature and complexity of the request and response. Utilize available reference sources and appropriate program contacts to provide information.

    -Provide appropriate technical assistance to Office of Housing, Executive Secretariat and CIR staff in addressing mass mailings from the public on Office of Housing issues. Provide assistance in composing Congressional form letters.

    -Participate in and/or conduct training sessions on correspondence FOIA and systems policies and procedures. Provide individual instruction and assistance to Office of Housing professional and administrative support staff on correspondence and FOIA management and systems policies and procedures.
