    Primary responsibilities include performing academic duties in the USAF Academy Preparatory School English Department; instructing a sequence of junior-college level English courses focusing primarily on composition, including such forms as the personal essay, written argument, the research paper, and literary analysis; teaching reading and study skills development; and participating in the development of the English curriculum. The incumbent will also be expected to mentor new instructors and should demonstrate the potential for course leadership, leadership positions within the department, and meaningful service beyond the department. The incumbent will contribute to the evaluation of the performance, leadership, and officer potential of over 230 Air Force Academy cadet candidates and advise students in a classroom environment and on a one-on-one basis to enhance their academic performance and overall development. The incumbent will also serve in auxiliary positions as established by the Commander, the Dean of Academics, or the Department Head.
