    About the Position: Serves a Chief, Accounting Branch for the Norfolk District, US Army Corps Engineers supporting the execution of military and civil work projects. Maintains a complex accounting system that includes direct, reimbursable, and cost share funds, as well as revolving funds. Devises and updates all policies and procedures pertaining to the district accounting functions. Provides fiscal law advice and maintains compliance with CFO Act audit requirements.

    • Serves as Chief, Accounting Branch responsible for planning and directing the accounting program, for implementing and maintaining all primary and subordinate accounting systems.
    • Responsible for monitoring and coordination of a Corps-wide management information system at the District level.
    • Managerial Accountant who serves as the chief accounting advisor to the Resource Management Officer, the District Engineer, project/program managers and other top management officials in the District.
    • Responsible for the operation of a comprehensive overall automated Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS II).
    • Plans and directs work of approximately 4 managerial accountants, a payroll customer service representative and a Financial Systems Analyst.
    • Represents the District in accounting and finance matters and confer with key personnel in the District and at Headquarters on matters within the government.

    Occasional travel - Business travel may be up to 5%.
