This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program within VHA. If selected for this position you must meet specific individual eligibility criteria in accordance with VHA policy 1021 and apply for EDRP within four (4) months of appointment. Final award amount and program start date is determined after review of a complete EDRP application and supporting documentation by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office. If selected for this position, please contact the facility EDRP Coordinator.
Mental health provides the following services: Group Programming, Evidence-Based Treatments, Tele-Mental Health, Medication Management, Couples and Family Counseling, Psychological Assessment and other mental healthservices. The RN demonstrates leadership, experience and creative approaches to the assessment treatment planning and management of the complex mental health needs of these patients. The responsibilities of the RN include but are not limited to providing risk assessment and triage services for patients seeking access to mental health services. He/she will discuss abnormal results with referring provider and communicate normal lab results to patient or caregiver. He/She will monitor telephone calls and identify potential emergencies; coordinate patient care with other facilities and agencies; provide direct nursing care to individuals and groups of patients in accordance with the policies of the EPVAHCS. In addition the RN assesses, plans, implements, collaborates, and coordinates the needs and care of patients with acute and/or chronic mental illness in an outpatient setting or in the community, using the nursing process. The RN is actively involved in Performance Improvement activities and committees as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) must be fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission On Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Annual leave shall accrue for full-time Nurses, and Nurse Anesthetists at the rate of 8 hours for each full biweekly pay period.
