    Responsibilities

    As a Chemist within the Office of the Associate Director of Energy and Minerals some of your specific duties will include:

    -Advises on the immediate and long-range needs of quality assurance procedures and practices that will ensure the quality policy is achieved.

    -Implements and sustains project management best practices, including planning and preparation of technical work plans, project schedules, and budgets; management of projects to budgets and schedules; and periodic assessments.

    -Writes policy and procedure documentation including Quality Assurance Requirements documents for the Energy and Minerals Mission Area.

    -Leads laboratory internal audit teams to conduct comprehensive reviews of the QMS implementation throughout the Minerals Resources Program and Energy Resources Program funded laboratories.

    -Provides advice and participates in contracting for external reviews of the laboratory Quality Management System.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Average of 2 night per month may be required.
