    You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the Combatants Office, Systems Branch Division of PROGRAM EXECUTIVE OFFICE SHIPS.

    Responsibilities

    • You will serve as point of contact within the DDG 51 Shipbuilding Program for issues concerning HM and E systems and associated components and equipment used in support of DDG 51 class ships.
    • You will conducts systems engineering studies and design reviews in support of these areas to enhance the design and to resolve technical issues as they arise during the shipbuilding process.
    • You will manage technical issues for main propulsion systems, electrical systems (including power generation and distribution), damage control and auxiliary systems.
    • You will independently assess the impact of changes to HM and E systems on overall ship production schedules.
    • You will investigate, develop, and analyze complex HM and E problems and provides advice and insights about the probable effects of alternative solutions.
    • You will provide input regarding performance of shipbuilder and subcontractor efficiency and responsiveness in satisfying program and contractual requirements.
    • You will develop technical reports and presentations, and provide briefs to senior Navy leadership regarding status of planning, execution and design integration of complex technical issues onto DDG 51 class ships.
    • You will coordinate the efforts of multi-faceted teams to ensure that engineering requirements are being met and suitably integrated into the ship design.
    • You will ensure that cost, schedule, technical performance and system supportability through out the life cycle is considered when developing solutions to technical issues.
